The victories of the glorious October War are a badge of pride for every Egyptian
Egyptians celebrate the sixth of October every year to commemorate the glorious October victories, which are considered the greatest victory in the history of Egypt, and the day on which the enemy was taught an unforgettable lesson, and the people of the country proved that they are true heroes and the best soldiers on earth, setting the most wonderful examples of courage, strength, and loyalty to their homeland, glory. For all these heroes who sacrificed their lives for their homeland, they have all our pride and pride. May God have mercy on the heroic martyrs and protect Egypt and its people from all harm.
October War 1973
This war was given several names, including (the Tenth of Ramadan War, the Tishreen Liberation War, Yom Kippur, and Yom Kippur).
Three main armies participated in the October War: the Egyptian army, the Syrian army, and the Israeli army. Nine Arab countries also provided military support to the Egyptian and Syrian armies: (Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Sudan, Kuwait, Libya, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, and Tunisia).
The Egyptian soldiers were fully prepared for war after a lot of planning and continuous training at the hands of Commander Gamal Abdel Nasser and President Anwar Sadat, who completed the march after him. They were trained on all military weapons, such as infantry, light weapons, anti-tank missiles, Thunderbolt forces, amphibious tanks, and others.
The Egyptian army faced multiple obstacles, such as the height of the berm and its fortified points on the eastern bank of the Suez Canal, known as the Bar Lev Line, the increase and strength of the Israeli army’s weapons and equipment, the large number of its soldiers compared to the Egyptian and Syrian armies, and many other difficulties.
But the Arab countries united as a single army at that time and defeated their enemy bitterly. They were able to demolish the berm using the water pumps that were used in building the High Dam, and a corridor was made for heavy military equipment to pass through. Special combat groups were formed to attack the defensive points of the Bar Lev Line and they succeeded in the attack. They overcame all obstacles because of their determination and courage. They were able to disperse the enemy, and their strategic plans were able to mislead the Israeli political and military leadership.

The results of the war were great in favor of Egypt and the Arab world, as Egypt and Syria were able to regain parts occupied in the 1967 war, and Egypt regained control over the Sinai Peninsula, and Syria over the Golan Heights. Israel’s position in the international arena was also weakened, and it was a decisive turning point in the history of relations. Internationally, oil has been proven as an important strategic weapon.
